Domestic Short Hair (short coat) Cat

Diamond Girl the Cat needs a home

Diamond Girl was living in the yard of a man who was feeding her kittens but providing only one bowl of food for the whole colony. Pregnant again and still nursing her previous litter, she was desperate for food, and the man was angry when she tried to eat from the same bowl as her kittens. A volunteer, assuming Diamond Girl was feral and that the kittens were young enough to be socialized, trapped and fixed them all. The kittens found homes with someone willing to work on their socialization. Diamond Girl, although shy, is more socialized than her kittens, and oh, so sweet! Her former "caretaker" cared only about her kittens and did not treat her well, but at some point in her life, someone did, because she likes humans and is remembering a time when they were kind to her. She loves to be petted and she LIVES to be brushed-she will make starfish paws and give head butts to anyone who pays attention to her.

Diamond Girl is approximately 6 years old and is FIV+. In her foster home, she met FIV- cats and was not the least bit aggressive towards them; she sniffed noses and wanted to make friends. She is a shy kitty but a dream kitty-she would do best starting out in a small room, though, where you can reach her and gain her trust.
